I joined mariachi because of my mom’s love for Mexican music. That’s all I heard growing up and loved it. It’s why I began to play trumpet, because of the mariachi trumpet sound. I knew I wanted to play the instrument, never thought it would take me this far. It became my ticket to University studies and eventually, my degree. I have had the pleasure of playing various styles with many great artists, and many beautiful pieces of music. I played with the University Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Bands, Orchestra, Pep Band, and Marching Band. Mariachi was my weekend job, but have always done my best to perform at the highest level, and still do. It was this weekend job that helped me tremendously throughout my studies, and where I met my beautiful wife, Selinna AG Jasso. I have been with Alegre for 9 years, it has been a great group to play with and hope to stick with it for a long time.
